This Month In Ross History

November 1976
Dawn Of The Desert Mule Deer

Ross quoted MULEY in John Ford's 1940 film THE GRAPES OF WRATH:

The rest of my fambly set out for the west - there wasn't nothin' to eat - but I couldn't leave. Somepin' wouldn't let me. So now I just wander around. Sleep wherever I am. I used to tell myself I was lookin' out for things, so when they come back ever'thing would be all right. But I knowed that wan't true. There ain't nothin' to look out for. And ain't nobody comin' back. They're gone - and me, I'm just an 'ol graveyard ghost - that's all in the world I am.

CODEX ROSSAE CRUCIS
(Excerpts)

ISAIAH 28:16
Behold, I lay in Zion
For a Foundation
A Stone
A tried Stone
A precious corner Stone
A sure Foundation
He that believeth
Shall not make haste

PSALM 118:22
The Stone
Which the builders rejected
Has become the chief corner
Stone

TABULA SMARAGDINA HERMETIS
It is true, certain and without falsehood
That whatever is above is like that which is below
To accomplish the one wonderful work

THE CHYMICAL WEDDING OF
CHRISTIAN ROSSENKREUTZ -
THE FIRST DAY
On an evening before Easter Day, I sat at a table, and having (as my custom was) in my humble prayer sufficiently conversed with my Creator, and considered many great mysteries (whereof the Father of Lights his Majesty had shewn me not a few) and being now ready to prepare in my heart, together with my dear Paschal Lamb, a small, unleavened, undefiled cake. All of a sudden arose so horrible a tempest, that I imagined no other but that through its mighty force, the hill on which my little house was founded would fly into pieces.

THE HOLY MOUNTAIN, A ROSSICRUCIAN ALLEGORY
BY THOMAS VAUGHAN
Every man naturally desires a superiority, to have treasures of gold and silver, and to seem great in the eyes of the world. God indeed created all things for the use of man, that he might rule over them, and acknowledge therein the singular goodness and omnipotence of God, give Him thanks for His benefits, honor Him and praise Him. But there is no man who looks after these things, otherwise than by spending his days idly. They would enjoy them without any previous labor and danger; neither do they look for them in that place where God hath treasured them up.

Seasons they change
But with gaze unchanging
I have been waiting
Beyond the years
Now over the skyline
I see you're traveling
Brothers from all time
Gathering here
Come let us build
The ship of the future
In an ancient pattern
That journeys far
Come let us set sail
For the Always Island
Through seas of leaving
To the summer stars
